Cannondale SuperSix Evo Tiagra
£779.99 from £1,299 (40% off)

The Cannondale SuperSix is a world class frame, and this lower tier frame bears much of the DNA of the top tier high-modulus carbon SuperSix Evo. To see any complete carbon bike available at under £800 is a good opportunity, to be able to buy the SuperSix at this price point is stunning.

Giro Synthe MIPS 2016
£124.99 from £249.99 (49% off)

The Synthe has seemed to be the helmet of the last year, almost ubiquitous in high level racing for its mixture of good looks, aerodynamic prowess and strong ventilation. With the addition of expensive safety feature MIPS, we’re surprised to see this near the £100 mark.

Mavic Aksium thermal jacket
£70 from £100, 30% off

Although not the most heavily discounted, Mavic’s Aksium jacket is a nice piece of winter weather performance gear that punches above its weight at the normal RRP, and so it’s exciting to see it discounted to a near-entry level price that’s available across all sizes.

Giro Factor ACC Road shoe
£124.99 from £249.99 (50% off)

DMT Vega Carbon Road Shoes 2015
£79.99 down from £199.99 (60% off)
Ok, these DMT Vegas are a couple of years old now, but if we remember correctly technology was still pretty advanced way back in 2015. They feature a carbon sole, a double Boa dial fastening system, replaceable heel widgets, and they look good too - in black or white.

Look Keo 2 Max Blade Road Pedals
£54.99 down from £109.99 (50% off)
Better engagement than the Keo 2 Max, but not quite as clean as the Keo Blade 2, the Keo 2 Max Blade - confusing as that might sound - is about middling in terms of performance in the Look pedal range. The pedal is made from a fibreglass composite, and the aero Blade design is neat, and the clip-in mechanism is a tried and tested failsafe for beginners and experienced riders alike.

But it must be said that their cost can sometimes be prohibitive. These caffeinated gels have a whopping 68% off at the moment, so get in quick and make sure your first events of the year are completed.

Fuji SL 2.1
£1,949 from £2,599 (25% off)
Fuji’s SL 1.1 weighed in at just 5.11kg, and when we tested it we found it to be a superb, extremely accompliashed race machine. However, it also cost a healthy £8,500, so at over £6,5k less, the SL 2.1 is a bargain. It’s based around the same frame (albeit slightly heavier due to lower modulus fibres) and specced with Shimano’s excellent Ultega Di2 groupset. It is heavier at a claimed 7.52kg, but with the money you’ve saved a wheel upgrade could easily see that figure drop below 7kg, and the SL’s acceleration become even more rapid.

Lazer Z1 helmet
£119.99 from £199.99 (40% off)
Two hundred knicker for a helmet is a lot, but knocked down to £120 Lazer’s flagship lid suddenly becomes a veritable bargain. At around 230g it’s firmly in the lightweight category, and thanks to multiple vents it feels light and airy when on. The Rollsys fit adjustment (an integrated wheel on top controls the internal cradle size) is intuitive and offers flexible, comfortable fit. Supplied with a clip-on aero shell cover. Also available with MIPS for £132.

Castelli Gabba Women’s jersey
£89.99 from £179.99 (50% off)
The Gabba changed the game, creating an all-new niche for race-fitted, weather resistant thermal riding gear where other companies thought they had it sewn up. Today pretty much every kit brand has its own version, but nothing quite compares to the original, especially at this price. For men, the long-sleeved version is now called the Perfetto, and comes in at £140, representing a £40 saving.

Elite Custom bottle cage
£10.99 down to £6.99 (36% off)
Unless you’re Italian you’ll need two bottles for your rides, and unless you want to entirely undermine every cycling aesthetic rule in the book, you’ll need matching cages to carry them. Elite’s Custom cages have been around longer than anyone can remember, and there’s a reason: they’re simple, effective and come in colours to match every bike under the sun (if in doubt, go black). And they’re cheap.

Shimano 105 groupset
£500 down to £349.99 (30% off)
Even at full price the 105 groupset is exceptional value. Its shifts are snappy, the brakes powerful, chainset stiff and mechs nicely styled. If there’s a penalty for the price its weight, as compared to Ultegra, and finessed class, as compared to Dura-Ace. But if unfussy, reliability is what you’re after, look no further. Top tip: swap the brake blocks out for a softer compound and upgrade the brake cables to Dura-Ace to get the very most out of the 105 groupset.

Cateye Rapid XX rear light
£46.99 down £26.99 (42% off)
The Rapid has been an enduring model line for Cateye, and rightly so. This XX version - a 50 lumen, all shining, all flashing - is an absolute cinch to fit thanks to a simple silicone mount and bungee (it comes with two types of mount so it fits aero-posts), charges in two hours and will last for up to 16. The slim, vertical nature means it won’t spoil the lines of your bike, and allows for seatstay mounting too.

Schwalbe One tyres
£44.95 down to £26.99 each (39% off)
The Ones have been in the Schwalbe range for a number of years, but even today remain some of the lightest clincher tyres you can buy - 205g for a 23mm, 225g for a 25mm and 245g for a 28mm. We’ve had great all-round experiences on the Ones. The slick tread offers excellent adhesion, the carcass is supple for fast rolling and cornering grip, and longevity is decent for what is essentially a road tyre - we’ve ridden them easily into the few thousands of kilometres.
