Despite the weather sometimes being a barrier to the enjoyment of winter cycling - and sometimes even stop you riding altogether - it can also be a great time of the year to be out on a bike.
With no pressure to push yourself and only the diminished daylight to cut a ride short, the colder months can be fun and rewarding. What's more, the misty mornings, bright low sunshine and stark scenery make for some fantastic photographs.
