Chris Froome is back on his bike just a day after a driver knocked the Tour winner off during a training ride

Chris Froome has resumed training just a day after being knocked from his bike in an incident suffered while out training on Tuesday 9th May.

'Just got rammed on purpose by an impatient driver who followed me onto the pavement,' Froome said yesterday on Twitter, accompanied by a picture of his broken bike, which appeared to have a snapped frame and bent wheels.

'Thankfully I'm okay. Bike totaled. Driver kept going,' he said.

But on the morning of Wednesday 10th, Froome posted to Twitter again with a photo of himself on a brand new Pinarello, and the simple accompanying caption of 'Back at it'.

The Briton's main target of the season is again the Tour de France, which he has already won on three occassions, in 2013, 2015 and 2016, but he is yet to win a race so far in 2017.

With injury seemingly avoided in wake of the 'ramming' incident, Froome's schedule in the run-up to the Tour can be expected to be unchanged, which will mean his next race is the Criterium du Dauphine, due to start on 4th June.
