The best places to watch the Tour de France in London as recommended by Human Race Events. Let us know if they've missed any

With cycling’s most famous Grand Tour just over a week away, the organisers of the Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival, which takes place on Sunday 15th July, have cherry-picked the very best places in London to watch the Tour de France live.

Relax and enjoy the world’s most beautiful sport in the comfort of one of these venues. With the majority of the action happening during the working day, perhaps this list could provide a few ideas for alternative 'meeting venues'.

Where to watch the Tour de France live in London

Canopy Beer Co

Enjoy fresh craft beer and watch the Tour live in the tap room. They’ll be showing the stages live each afternoon plus the evening highlights, and for the super eager there will be fantasy Tour competitions running throughout.

Where: Arch 1127, Bath Factory Estate, 41 Norwood Rd, Herne Hill, London SE24 9AJ

Look mum no hands!

LMNH is the ultimate institution when it comes to London cycle cafes. With first rate mechanics on site, a superb deli-café and craft beers, everything is covered.

During the Tour there will be live screening of all the action every day plus the evening highlights from their Old Street venue, plus a pop-up café and screen by London Bridge City Pier.

You can check out the whole programme here.

Where: 49 Old Street, EC1V 9HX & (Pop-up) The Pier, Hays Lane, SE1 2HB

Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival

Ok, it's not quite in London like the other venues in this list, but just a 30 minute train from Baker Street or Marylebone, Penn House in Amersham is the ultimate place to watch Le Tour outside of France.

Tackle a pretty gruelling sportive (52km-161km), then come back and relax on the lawns in front of the big screen and enjoy Stage 9 (cobbles-galore!), with a local ale in hand, gourmet street food, live music and a vintage velo village.

Le Tour de France fun for all the family!

Where: Penn House, Amersham, HP7 0PS

Brixton Cycles

This independent workers' cooperative will be screening the Tour every afternoon. Pop by for a first-class service from this friendly bunch.

They don’t have a café anymore, but it’s still a pretty lively setting.

Where: 296-298 Brixton Rd, London SW9 6AG

Rapha Cycle Club London Café

Rapha’s Clubhouses at Brewer Street in Soho and Spitalfields will be showing every stage of the Tour de France live.

With multiple screens and surround sound, plus a selection of themed food and drink. It’s the next best thing to being roadside.

There will be a selection of racing memorabilia on display, with bicycles ranging from the 50s through to the 90s, all ridden to Grand Tour success.

Where: Brewer Street, London, W1F 9ZN

Seabass Cycles Peckham

Recently opened (May 2018), Seabass Cycles Peckham is a perfect venue to drop in from the CS5. Swing by to pick up spare parts and join the relaxed and friendly team for a stage, plus a pastry and a powerful cup of Dark Arts coffee!

Where: Co Operative House, 261 Rye Lane, London SE15 4UR
Website: seabasscycles.co.uk

London Velo

Rumour has it the staff here ride across London each morning to collect their day's supply of bagels from the Brick Lane Bagel store.

They’ll be showing the Tour live during the day, however warning – get there early! – with limited seating and hungry locals, it’s bound to be jam-packed.

It’s also dog- and vegan-friendly. What’s not to love?

Where: 18 Deptford High Street, SE8
Website: ldnvelo.co.uk

There are still a final few places left to the Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival. Enter the sportive and get free entry for you, friends and family to the live screening of Stage 9 of the 2018 Tour de France, plus a full day of activities at the Velo Village
