New gear from BiKase, Isla Bikes, Park Tool, Riesel Design and Silca.

BiKase SuperBand

American brand BiKase have a range of bike-related accoutrements and accessories under its name, from bags and bottle cages to stands to hold your iPad while you're on the turbo. While the latter seems a tad excessive, we think there's a place for the SuperBand; a simple idea which allows you to neatly strap anything - be it a gilet, extra bottle, some gels, or else - to your bike in any place you can get the device to fit. From $20.

Isla Bikes 'Pro Series' range

Now in its tenth year, Isla Bikes is a rare breed of manufacturer that specialises in kids bikes, and it's upped the ante dramatically with the launch of the Pro Series, with a fleet of bikes aimed to cater for the particularly competitive or aspirational young rider. The range is topped by the Luath 700, priced at £1,599, and comes with an aluminium frame and carbon fork, 1x11 Ultegra transmission system and Stan's NoTube rims.

Park Tool Steel Core tyre levers

In some ways, tyre levers are tyre levers, but you can count on Park Tool to do the simple things well. The new TL-6.2 lever set has a steel core, with a composite covering all but the tip, which should give both the strength and slipperiness needed for even the tightest of tyres - £14.99

Riesel Design Flasche bidons

We like what German outfit Riesel Design have done with its bottles, with an array of garish, psychadelic designs to contrast perfectly with the often clean and neat lines of the down and seat tubes on which they will sit. Surely some sort of collaboration between Riesel and Beavertown Brewery is now the only way forward? £TBA

Silca Super Pista track pump

Silca are to bicycle pumps what Colnago, De Rosa and Bianchi are to bicycle frames: historic, Italian, and expensive. For all of the above you do get quality, and while not quite in the realms of the Super Pista Ultimate's +/- 1% accuracy, the new Super Pista is still able to go within 2%. The body and internals are made of aluminium, while the handle is beech wood and the gasket leather. A premium pumping package.

Cyclist Issue 49

On the shelves as of Wednesday 25th, the latest issue of Cyclist magazine is, as you might imagine, a corker. We hit the roads of Switzerland and Los Angeles, talk to Fabio Aru about his Tour de France aspirations, get the lowdown on weight loss practice, and review bikes from Specialized, De Rosa and Open. Still only £5.50, but there's even a full Tour de France guide thrown in for good measure.
