Box Hill Zig Zag road will operate as a one-way road allowing cyclists and motor vehicles to only climb the hill over the Easter Weekend from Friday 30th March to Monday 2nd April.
It is also Tour of Flanders weekend, so many local riders will be getting an early ride in before heading home to watch the race from start to finish.
This decision to restrict traffic to one way of travel was confirmed by the National Trust, the body that helps run the Surrey Hills area.
It is hoped that this move will allow all road users to further enjoy the National Trust Land and prevent traffic build-up on what will be a busy weekend.
This decision will see vehicles restricted to only ascending the famous switchbacked hill from Old London Road with no vehicles allowed to descend the hill throughout the weekend.
This move will be particularly welcomed by the cyclist and walking communities who often flock to beloved Surrey hill every weekend of the year.
Box Hill is one of the most tackled climbs in the world by cyclists with an excess of 41,000 riders having ridden the climb on the Strava app.
Zig Zag Road has also become the focal point of the annual RideLondon-Surrey Classic and RideLondon 100 sportive.
Those looking to ride the hill will hopefully be welcomed with a steady flow of traffic and less congestion although it must be warned that the road will no doubt be busy with walkers and cyclists alike looking to make the most of the long Bank Holiday weekend.
