Another week passes and another gravel event is announced further proving that the riding world is moving off the tarmac and on to the dirt.
Brought to you by the team behind the TweedLove Festival and Tour O the Borders, the newest event to hit the calendar is the Bombtrack Gran Fonduro, an off-road sportive that will tackle the the forest roads, natural trails and footpaths of the scenic Scottish Borders.
Taking place on 29th September, the 'Fonduro' will run two distances, the 60km short version and 100km long version. The event will centre itself around the grounds of Traquair House in Peebles, Scotland.
While the riders tackle the trails of the Tweed Valley, certain sections will be timed 'enduro' style including singletrack, forest climbs and gravel roads to help add a competitive element.
If racing against the clock is not your thing, worry not as the beautiful Scottish trails will offer a day of discovery with plenty of opportunities to take in the breathtaking natural scenery.

Organisers say that cyclocross bikes will be the perfect machines for the event but will not stop those who decide to ride on mountain bikes.
Beyond the riding aspect, a party-like feel is promised thanks to a post-ride DJ, a craft beer bar, a BBQ and fire pits that will help you and your family and friends unwind after a long day in the saddle.
Tickets for the event start at £60 which covers ride entry and even gets you a free beer. For an additional £15 you can secure deluxe entry which also gets you a cooked meal and exclusive kit.
